Delectable heart-shaped chocolates first became popular in 617 AF as a special promotional consumeable artefact. They come in aromatic velvet pouches and can bestow a small effect on the eater:

- a 24-day increased statistic (strength, intelligence, etc)
- a 24-day increased critical hit chance
- a 24-day celerity bonus
- a 24-day levitation defence
- a 24-day increased regeneration (mana, health, etc)
- a 24-day ability to travel to mutual allies
- being turned into a toad (for a third of a day). Alack!
In the spirit of Selentine, gifting the chocolate causes the receiver to receive double the benefit. Eating more than one at a time may extend the duration of an effect. If an adventurer feeds a chocolate to a denizen, the adventurer will receive an xp bonus for killing denizens of that type for the next twenty-four (24) days.
Heart-shaped chocolates are made with love, not magical preservatives. Left uneaten, they decay after about thirty months (two and a half years).
