578 years after the fall of the Seleucarian Empire, Merentesh who ran the Shop of Wonders in Delos offered two styles of bottles which were used to scent letters. The first was a tear-shaped perfume bottle and the second, an agate cologne bottle. Both were filled with a scented fragrance which was specifically designed to be sprayed onto letters.
The perfume bottle was made of a bright crystal and was rounded into the shape of a teardrop. The perfume within was a pale blue and was dribbled out through the narrow neck, around which was tied a silver cord. The stopper was a cluster of aquamarine forget-me-nots.
