Talk:Tavern in the Port
"Tavern in the Port" isn't the actual name of the bar is it? "Tavern" is caps because it's the first word in the room name, while "Port" is caps because it is referencing Port Tasur'ke. I guess the article title is fine, but I think "tavern in the Port" is a more appropriate thing to call it. --Slurpz 16:52, 8 May 2008 (GMT)
"Located in Port Tasur'ke, the tavern in the Port is run by Jambiya." --Slurpz 16:53, 8 May 2008 (GMT)
- I've checked the shop and wasn't able to find an instance of it uncapitalised, so I'm leaving the article as is for now until we get evidence otherwise. Regarding this article's title, capitalisation of the first word is automatic and cannot be changed. Asara 17:10, 8 May 2008 (GMT)
- That's exactly why it shouldn't be capitalized. You have no evidence that is actually the name. It is, as far as anyone can tell, just a tavern in the Port. In both the game and in the wiki, initial capitalization is automatic like you said (I said this article title is fine exactly for that reason). Therefore you need to look beyond room name, like the verbose description, for proof and not assume the room title tells you everything. By the way, maybe there should be a Port Tasur'ke article? --Slurpz 19:10, 8 May 2008 (GMT)
- I am guessing from what you said is exactly that "Tavern in the Port" with that capitalization never appears anywhere else, from room description to what Jambiya says to whatever. That seems enough to suggest it's not the tavern name at all. --Slurpz 19:12, 8 May 2008 (GMT)
Hrm, I'm a bit confused. I actually investigated more than just the room title (which is only appropriate when attempting to be thorough): help scrolls, verbose description, and surrounding area. Still, unfortunately, I wasn't able to find an instance of it uncapitalised (all instances were capitalised), so I have no evidence that it should be uncapitalised. If you find something for me, please share, and I will be happy to change it then. Regarding initial capitalisation, I mentioned that only the article's title is automatic, not the brief_desc of a room. Hope that helps clarify things a bit. Asara 21:32, 8 May 2008 (GMT)
- Did you find that it was capitalized anywhere besides the room name? If so, that would be more than ample support for "Tavern in the Port" being the actual name of the tavern. If not, well I think in the absence of any more "Tavern in the Port"s or "tavern in the Port"s beyond the room name should suggest the uncapitalized way is correct. I wasn't saying to look for uncapitalizations...I was saying to look for the lack of capitalizations, since the room name's capitals are not indicative to the name of the tavern. --Slurpz 00:56, 9 May 2008 (GMT)
- I actually messaged Clementius since I wasn't so sure - he said it would be fine to consider it as "Tavern in the Port" for now, but otherwise he doesn't know. Asara 02:04, 9 May 2008 (GMT)
- Okay, since no one is sure, I went with "tavern in the Port." The thing is that that can't be wrong (it is a tavern in Port Tasur'ke), while it could be wrong to give the tavern the name "Tavern in the Port" if it turns out it's not. --Slurpz 03:33, 18 May 2008 (GMT)
- In a typo report, it was confirmed "Tavern in the Port" is -not- the name of the establishment. --Slurpz 03:44, 18 May 2008 (GMT)

Since the tavern is unnamed, isn't it better to put the wares on Jambiya's article? That's what was done with Yuli. --Slurpz 04:22, 18 May 2008 (GMT)
Before I consider removing this from pending deletion, I want to make sure that there are no other objections since this actually IS a tavern. I don't think its proper name (or lack thereof) makes it any less of one. The Jambiya article will be fixed accordingly. Or perhaps someone has another suggestion...
