- This article is about the Magi class. For the former Magi Guild, see Crystalline Circle.
The Magi are of a powerful, magic-wielding class that uses the skills of Crystalism, Elementalism, and Artificing. Previously the sole users of magical Enchantment (now divided between Augmentation and Conjuration), it was replaced by a new skill set called Artificing in 673. The former three were rediscovered by Taranis (born on the 21st of Daedalan, 184 AF), a notable former Druid who left his old Guild and became a prominent citizen of Shallam, serving as advisor to the Sultan. In the year 254 AF, he found the Crystal Caverns and was bestowed with knowledge of the arcane Magi ways. He utilised these newfound skills to found the original Magi Guild. Like Serpent- and Monk-classed adventurers, those of the magi class were not limited to but a single organisation during the era of Guilds, as several more Guilds of the magi class were soon also founded.
The extent of the mana drain from magi abilities is dramatically lowered with the Robes of the Magi artefact.
Abilities in Battlerage

Windlash | Channel whipping blasts of wind at your target. |
Summon precise gusts of wind to whip across your target's exposed flesh, causing intense pain. The winds will continually attack the denizen for several seconds. | |
Dilation | Freeze time around your opponent. |
Summon the forces of wind and ice in a polar vortex surrounding your target. The cold becomes so intense that the very fabric of time itself is cracked in a small pocket around the target, causing it to move much slower in relation to the rest of reality and afflicting it with the aeon effect for several seconds. | |
Squeeze | Order your golem to crush your target. |
Command your golem to give your target a mighty hug, squeezing the life out of it. | |
Firefall | A mighty blow of earth and flame from the heavens. |
Summon a mighty flaming rock high in the air and watch as it hurtles towards your target. Those who are too clumsy or reckless to dodge the attack will bear the full brunt of its might. | |
Stormbolt | Sensitise your target with a bolt of lightning. |
Cast a bolt of electricity at a target, jangling its nerves and causing them to become hypersensitive for a few seconds. |
