Ekanel was the daughter of Rukal and Lakspura. Its influence strong in the early days, Chaos flowed prevalently within the veins of humankind, resulting in frequent mutations of appearance throughout the race's early generations. This was especially evident in Ekanel and her brother, Loki, both of whom looked slightly serpentine. They had two other siblings, Spiro and Polyphamora, whom Ekanel and Loki killed and ate.

Ekanel, along with her brother, went on to become ancestor of the modern day Serpents, and her name has been immortalised through the Ekanelian Jewel artefact.
