Darius was a warmaster general of Shallam during the end of the first Ashtan-Shallam War cycle and the beginning of the second (c. 1400 BF), as well as the nephew of the Shallamese emperor of the period. He led Shallam to victory over Ashtan and later occupied the Bastion of the North for a span in excess of two weeks, though he was later defeated and slain by the militia of Zarathustra and Travian Shea.
The fall of Darius' legions to the Zarathustran rebels is the subject of Tancred Lasalle's literary epic, Final Resting for Travian Shea.
