The Shadow Codex is the tutor of the Shadowsnakes of Ashtan. A sentient collection of serpentine lore which guides the study of the Shadows, it was compiled from the ancient tomes of Loki (serpent) and Ekanel, the original serpents, which were discovered housed in a mystical ship on the bottom of a remote lake.
In the year 196 AF, Cobra and his companions, the Shadow Cabal, broke away from the guild of the Serpentlords to focus on the study the tomes with the help of Lady Eris and her occult scholars. The knowledge was eventually condensed into the Shadow Codex.
