The bane of spelling students across Sapience, the Aeraithian Falls are a community of winged humanoids nestled in the cliffs of the Southern Vashnars.
Geography
The Falls can be found at the end of an icy river that flows through the Vashnars. The village itself is built vertically into the cliffs overlooking the Sapphire Ocean. The layout of town can be quite confusing to outsiders, as it is quite different from traditional villages.
People
The village is inhabited by a race known as the Aeraithians. They are a short people, only five feet tall. They are covered in a thick, brown fur and have a pair of small wings on their back. They are unable to fly, but use the wings to glide from building to building. Notable Aeraithians include:
Culture
The Aeraithians have their own native language, which is not well known by the outside world. They speak some common, but many of the village speak a somewhat bastardised version, twisting words to sound more like their native tongue. For example, the word "nice" becomes "nitsk." The inhabitants practice a religion that holds the waters of the Falls sacred, and also reveres the element of Air. A local shaman seems to be the religious leader, spending his time creating magical concoctions. The main food source for the village is fish, which are collected by fishermen on the rooftops. The village leaders are friendly and welcoming to outsiders, though the average villager may be a bit shy.
