Apollyon, the Suffering is the God of the realm of Suffering, and is one of the Lords of Evil, sundered by Keresis from Sartan, the Malevolent.
History
Apollyon came into existence after the coming of the Morning Star, when the pit Abbadon attempted to consume the Morning Star as it headed toward Sapience. The resulting outburst of energy destroyed almost all life upon Sapience, as well as the creation of both Apollyon, the Malefactor and Aurora, Goddess of Light. Ten years after His birth, Shaitan, the Lord of Evil assaulted Apollyon and absorbed His being, changing His name to Sartan to evade the wrath of Sarapis. This remained the case until 396AF, when the Goddess of Vengeance struck the Lord of Evil and broke the bonds that connected Shaitan with Apollyon once more.
The Adikoi
The Order of Apollyon possesses three tiers - combatants, scholars, and preachers. The choice of path is used only to take advantage of their greater strengths, and rank is of little relevance. Instead, the value of suffering is considered to be far more important.
Divine Symbols
The holy symbol Apollyon is that of the wheel, usually depicted to be broken. He takes preference over little within life, however the likes of locusts, wasps, and coyotes are said to hold some meaning.
