The monitor lizard is a reptilian species native to the Mhojave Desert. Monitor lizards are large, known to grow to greater sizes than the height of a human male. They use their claws and whiplike tails to great advantage, lacerating and shredding the flesh of their prey. The monitor lizard's thick skin, which works like a natural suit of armour, has magical effects when ground into a powder.
