The Tavern of Hope is located upon the island of New Hope. It serves a menu of hearty local fare including exotic fruits, rum, and entrees. A mismatched variety of informal furniture allows customers to enjoy their food in comfort. When Ferrin, the proprietor, isn't watching over his stew he enjoys partaking a brew with his fellow villagers.
Menu
- Sliced carambola fruit - 40gp
- Two large carambolas, or starfruits, have been sliced into bite-sized pieces and arranged upon a banana leaf. The flesh is light yellow and forms the shape of a star, creating an appetizing treat.
- Rum (cobalt-glazed mug) - 95gp
- This ceramic mug is handcrafted in a stout, cylindrical shape with a substantial handle on the side and covered in a vibrant cobalt glaze. The mug is slightly wider at the bottom, providing a stable base when set on unsteady tables or counters.
- Bowl of panther stew - 85gp
- A large banana leaf has been formed into a bowl and filled with a hearty brown stew. Chunks of breadfruit and tender panther meat bob up and down in the savoury broth, aswirl with multicoloured specks of spices that emit a pungent aroma.
- Brown coconut - 45gp
- Coarse brown hairs cover the husk of this common tropical fruit. Hard as a rock, the exterior bears little resemblance to the sweet fruit to be found inside.
- Unhusked coconut - 35gp
- About the size of a human head, this coconut has not fully ripened, and has a pale yellow-green exterior. A sloshing sound when shaken confirms there is liquid inside, while the entire nut is surrounded by a light, tropical fragrance.
- Grilled shark steak with fruit salsa - 145gp
- Served upon a broad green banana leaf, this thick shark steak has been soaked in a marinade of ginger and pineapple, then grilled to perfection over hot coals. Topped with a chunky fruit salsa of mango, pineapple, and papaya, the meat is tender and flaky, a medley of rich flavours that appeal to any palate.
- Ripe mango - 40gp
- A tough, leathery skin of mottled yellow and green covers this succulent fruit, its waxy surface keeping moisture in and hungry insects out.
- Lychee fruit - 20gp
- A small amount of juice oozes from the skin of this small fruit, which measures about an inch and a half in diameter. With its bright red, warty outer skin, the lychee has the appearance of a large raspberry.
