The blade of the Slayer

The blade of the Slayer is an artefact sword leased to true masters of combat. Held in the inventory, its bearer's killing blows have a chance to bypass the starburst defence of the slain. Its scarred hilt bound with cloth from various races and cultures shows the battleworn sword's wide travel and changes in ownership. Indeed, the blade of the Slayer can be purchased by any fighter (given enough currency), at any time, but only one owner can exist in the realm at once. Whenever it is purchased from the Eagle's Perch, it disappears from the belongings of the previous bearer(s), ready to stymie the auto-resurrection of new foes.
