Focused on the arduous task of hollowing out a tree trunk, this islander has the same smoothly-shaven head and serious expression as the rest of his kin. Unlike the other Zanzibaar natives, he wears a pair of long, loose cotton trousers with a sturdy toolbelt hooked around his waist. Covered with wood shavings and sticky sap, the trousers are clearly a garment of necessity, not comfort, in the festering jungle heat. "You are interested in the dhow? These are fine crafts, made first by hollowing a tree trunk, then planks are added to the sides to form the hull. I am making good progress but I will need a sail to complete the boat. If you happen to find anything suitable I would be very grateful, as I cannot afford to buy a new one." --Krypton 01:49, 9 October 2007 (GMT)
