Layer upon layer of fine silk drapes the figure of Zanzibaar's queen, a tall and handsome woman. Carefully braided and coiled atop her head, her hair sparkles where it is studded with small gemstones. Her dark brown complexion creases in faint crow's-feet at the corners of her eyes, the only hint of her age. No smile crosses her expression, and though she adopts a position of relaxation, she is clearly poised for movement at any time.
