In 209 AF, infected by the hatred and arrogance of the [[Wyrm of Worlds]] and driven to madness, [[Gaia]] slew [[Twilight]], breaking an ages-old agreement between the Gods that is known as '''Gaia's betrayal'''. As punishment for this Gaia's betrayal|crime, the other gods bound Her within the [[Tree landmark|Gaian Tree]], and Twilight, with the support of [[Eris]], brought darkness to the forests in vengeance. It was not until [[Aurora]] discovered the origin of Gaia's madness that She, [[Oneiros]], and [[Hermes]] assisted mortals in freeing the earthmother from the tree. The energies released from that event opened the way to lower [[Azdun]] and the lair of [[Zsarachnor]].
