Cobra, a first-generation [[adventurer]] of Achaea born on the 4th of [[Valnuary]], 156 AF, was a serpent in the early [[Modern Age]]. In 196 AF, he and his companions, the [[Shadow Cabal]], separated from the [[Cult of the Serpent Lords|Serpentlords]] Guild to pursue studies on a lost set of tomes. Discovered in a mystical ship belonging to [[Sinope]] at the bottom of remote [[Lake Balaton]], the tomes contained notes, collectively entitled the '''Mastery of the Shadows''', retelling the countless years of experimentation done by the original serpents, [[Loki (serpent)|Loki]] and [[Ekanel]]. With the aid of Lady [[Eris]] and her [[occultism|occult]] scholars, this newfound knowledge was condensed into the [[Shadow Codex]], the sentient collection of ancient serpentine lore who guides the Shadowsnakes in their studies to this day.
