However, [[Quisalis|Quisalis Mark]]-funded excavations in the year 446 unwittingly released the creature from its 61-year imprisonment.


It was believed that the crypt beast perished along with the villagers when Thera was destroyed by the [[Vertani]]. However, with the discovery of the [[Quisalis Mark]] inhabited caves under the village, that myth has been laid to rest.
