Any adventurer who has died before is probably familiar with this place. The Cave of Maya lies at the edge of the Western Ithmia, and it is linked directly with Maya, the Great Mother Herself. It is here that one is transported by the powers Divine after navigating the Halls of Maya, should they find themselves having to pray to Maya for salvation after they die. None may linger within the cave for long, as doing so is considered an act of blasphemy and ingratitude. As with much of the realm granted to Maya when She was bestowed the position of Supreme Creatrix, this was originally the Cave of Sarapis, the Logos.

Physically, the Cave is a large black rock covered in green moss. It lies in the centre of a grove of giant redwoods - an uncommon species of flora for the Western Ithmia, and probably not native. A single candle lights the cavern within. Its entrance remains hidden to mortal eyes, even those that arrived by it scant seconds before.
