'''Padael, Dragon of the Vashnar Peaks''', also known as '''Argent Beast of the Lost Light''', was a mighty dragon who was said to claim dominion of the [[Vashnar Mountains]] in the [[Age of Myth]]. One of the eldest of lesser dragons of old, he had eyes that "blazed of blue fire" and "breath of jagged thunder." [[Ledo]], eldest of the [[Offspring]], fought Padael in the mountains above the [[Aalen Forest]] for several days before he cleaved his wings and struck the great serpent down. Ledo's victory over the tarnished silver was a pyrrhic one: as Padael fell he dragged Ledo down with him into a lava lake where they both perished. The memory of the battle between man and dragon survives in the oral folklore of the Aalen [[Tsol'aa]].
