'''Petra''' is a small farming community on the edge of the [[Sangre plains]] just east of [[Ashtan]].  It was ruled by [[Batlin Karrella]], who spent much of his time locked away in his keep. The Baron died suddenly of illness one day before a woman named [[Sarranda]] appeared, claiming that he had quietly married her just prior to his death. The former [[Ashtani]] aristocrat fell in league with the vampiress [[Belladona]] before draining the village resources (and life energy) in her bid to claim the centuries-empty throne of the Bastion of the North.
