'''Divine essence''' is what gives the Divine the power to punish and favor mortals. Only certain order members and the Divine themself may see exactly how much essence they have, however anyone can contribute essence to their chosen divine.

Offering corpses and gold to your chosen Divine is what raises their essence and allows them to do many things.

Offering consists of three steps.

# Kill denizens or get gold

# Find [[shrines]] of the Divine you wish to make an offering to

# OFFER <object> and your offering will be taken

Please note that diffrent types of [[denizen]]s will have a different amount of essence. For example, offering a rat and a pixie will give different amounts of essence. Generally, more powerful denizens will be worth more divine essence.
