Rosie's Tale

A poem, written with limericks, about the recent event with Flair, Bluef, Rosie the Orphan, and a bunch of irate Shallamese, myself included.

There was a young girl on the street
Whose laughter and joy was unbeat.
And with candy in hand,
Someone showed her new land,
But my word, were they in for a treat!

The young girl in question was Rose,
The cutest thing! From head to toes,
She had quite a tan
‘fore she went to Ashtan,
Shallam's sunburn still slight on her nose.

Now Shallam wasn't pleased with the steal -
They suspected she'd soon be a meal!
So then A.S.A.P,
Rose was a rescue-ee!
(Flair and Bluef weren't too pleased with the deal.)

But, surprise! Little Rosie returned!
And Shallam's lil' stomach just churned,
But a huff and a puff
Simply wasn't enough
Rosie stayed where her presence was yearned.

And the posts came a-flying, it's true,
About just what Flair and Bluef could do -
"To keep our young Rose
While she frolics and grows,
And rides on the elephant, too!"

While the dispute had caused quite a stir
In Shallam, they did never confer
With the parents o'er there.
They just gave a large glare!
But young Rosie's still there. Lucky her!

For while other kids play in the street,
Little Rosie's got plenty to eat,
She's a-riding on Fats,
Prob'ly trying on hats,
And just thinking, "Wow, this can't be beat!"

Little Rosie! It's nice that you're good,
Being treated like a daughter should,
But you do need to know,
Shallam still loves you so,
And we'd welcome you back if we could!
