I came upon him thus, his head bowed low,
Naught but a pained sigh to greet my hello.
Then tears filled his eyes and dripped from his chin,
And I took a seat to listen to him.
"I did love her so. He took her you see.
Fircil, the elder, of the Beduri.
Enslaved for pleasure, she suffers alone.
Enslaved by love, I suffer the unknown."
Rising from my seat, I passed him a note.
Then took my leave as he read what she wrote.
Walking to the ferry, I grinned with pride,
as Rathen shouted, "My Carla's alive!"
And so I leave him thus, his head held high,
The lonely lover with hope by his side.
