Ascendant's Choice

The Ascendant's Choice in Tir Murann is tended by Rakwor, the Vertani barkeep. He takes great pride in his job, keeping the granite counter blemish-free between serving up hearty brews and potent vodka kept behind the bar or succulent dishes prepared by Ghaser, the Vertani cook. Upstairs, an inebriated, off-duty guard enjoys his free time challenging guests of the establishment to arm-wrestling matches.

Seared moirah steak - 130gp

Large black sear marks streak across this tender cut of meat. Only lightly cooked, the inside is a juicy explosion of flavour as one bites into the delicious, pink meat. A marbled outer ring surrounds the steak, with the most tender section of the meat immediately next to the layer of fat.

Daq's best (beer) - 30gp

A golden brew fills this tall slender glass, and a multitude of bubbles float from the bottom to the thick layer of foam at the top. The light gold colour of the beer is reminiscent of the golden-hue each Vertani possesses in their eye. A thin layer of frost coats the glass keeping it well chilled.

Eyes Brew (beer) - 30gp

Two different layers of beer are stagnated in this glass, much like the two separate coloured eyes of a common Vertani. The upper layer is a hearty dark brew with a thick layer of head, and below this the light amber-hued has settled to occupy the bottom of the glass.

Roasted xabat kabob - 105gp

A thick wooden skewer holds several pieces of mouth-watering meat with slices of red and yellow bell pepper between the meat. The xabat meat is slathered in a tangy, sweet sauce, and roasted to perfection with a crispy outside yet pink, juicy middle.

Fire Water (vodka) - 15gp

A short clear glass contains enough liquid for a quick gulp, and gives off an intoxicatingly strong odour of liquor. The tepid Vertani Water within this shot glass is an intimidating prospect that one would do best to drink as quickly as possible.
