The news is a system used for communicating information to others via a single article, also known as a post. The different types of news sections are as follows:

Public
This section may be read and written in by everyone.
Announce
May be read by everyone, but only the Pentad and some other Immortals may write in this section.
Comments
Everyone may write in this section but it may only be read by the Pentad.
Organisations
Houses, cities, Orders, clans, the Council of Oakstone, and the Church news sections may only be written in and read by adventurers who are members of those organisations and the Pentad.

While the news may be read from any area, even during sleep, one must be in a newsroom to write news. All news sections available to a person are free of charge except the public one which carries a fee of 5000 gold sovereigns.
