Thanatal'ryn Avathar'an

Thanatal'ryn Avathar'an, heir of Linderast Avathar'an, was the Fourth Radiant King of Istarion. Though promised in childhood to Ardamire Eldacar, who later married into the Pelendur line, the machinations of the Tarcalion family convinced him to take Silivrian Tarcalion as his queen and consort. Queen Silivrian would not bend to the manipulations of her family, however, and so the three families — Eldacar, Pelendur, and Tarcalion — saw it necessary to plot the king's assassination. King Thanatal'ryn was later strangled in his bedchamber by Ardamire Pelendur.

King Thanatal'ryn was succeeded by his son, the current monarch Kirithrandir Avathar'an, who survived the attempt on his own life during the coup.
