As a last ditch gamble, the [[adventurers]] of the five city-states of [[Sapience]] rallied the help of Parni de Sangre and Yuddhisthira to erect a barrier against the rising Black tide. In the year 798 AF a series of earthquakes rocked the continent of Sapience to its foundations. These earthquakes were the result of an unknown assailant assisting the Tsol'teth in weakening the barrier to the Underrealm. After Ama-maalier rose to be the first Avatar of Tlalaiad, she wielded enough power to destroy the barrier and let the tides of war infect Sapience once again. After their escape from the Underrealm the Tsol'teth imminently demanded a number of Adventurers and Guardians from five of the six city-states, all except Eleusis, to take samples to strengthen their lines.
After initially refusing the demands, Cyrene was seiged and occupied by the Tsol'teth for the entirety of the year 799 AF. After Cyrene fell, the Tsol'teth offered alliance to the other cities. Both Hashan and Targossas allied with them along with the Mhun of Moghedu. With their new alliances they made a large scale assault against the remaining two city states. With both Tsol'teth commanders Targossas battled with Ashtan, while Hashan and Moghedu besieged Mhaldor. Both attacks were unsuccessful in their primary purpose of capturing the city guardians, but both city fonts were destroyed in the chaos.
During the assaults upon Mhaldor and Ashtan, the Cyrenian Resistance hatched a plot with the wizard Hycanthus to take back their city. Utilizing homemade explosives from the wizard, the resistance unleashed a hidden river within the Vashnar mountains and along with it a new river spirit, [[Shuun'eludiela]]. Along with the [[Bairn Muurn]] they flooded Cyrene to assist the Resistance in taking back the city. The battle climaxed when the Tsol'teth, [[Hailqas'an]], snapped and cried a lament of destruction which brought down the Cyrene Clocktower and damaging many buildings along Bard's way.
Early on in the incursion, the Staff of Nicator was lost to the Tsol'teth. They took that opportunity to declare themselves the new host of the championship games. The catch was that participants must provide a sample to help advance the future of the Tsol'teth race. The games were played by many and boycotted by some. After the games were complete many Gods reminded Tlalaiad of their 'agreement' and the Tsol'teth and their tide of war once again returned to the Underrealm.
