The Vertani

They come from a circle
Mysterious, round
Everyone wonders
About what could be found

The few that could enter
Come back with strange tales
Lke gossip, or stories
Inspired by ales

The Vertani came out
In small numbers at first
There were few that suspected
The situation's reverse

It started in Sagohal
When the Priest was attacked
His outrage, he shouted
And then headed back

Through the circle, he went
The world was back bland
Though war was a brewin'
Through the Vertani's hand

They came out in numbers
Berzerkers and more
They set up their fortress
on El'Jazira's floor

An Aqueduct set up
"Its for good" they claim
Then all hell broke loose
as Mhaldor lay maim

The Vertani were outraged
"To war! To war!"
Mhaldor and Ashtan
Mocked them no more

As the war took course
Many were slain
The Vertani kept coming!
Their force was insane!

The fight continues now
As I write this short ballad
What the future shows?
What do we have on our palette?

How this will end up
I do not know
But now as you read this
It's the end of the show
