Alas, I am not a bard of old,
this story may not be well told.
But I am too, a victim of Love,
so I feel this should well be enough.

My years do not stretch back to these times,
so the words of others fill my rhymes.
From news articles they come, and very mouth of He,
to the actual locations, that set this story.

This tale will go on, and be told throughout the ages,
in books it shall be written, forged upon the pages.
The story of the Mighty Aegis, the Military One,
and His Chaotic wife, Eris, the bearer of His Daughter and Son.

Upon sight of Her, from the very start,
a soft pounding of war drums filled His heart.
She labeled him a bully oozing divine machismo,
it would take a while for Her feelings to grow.

Much time passed, and He courted Her,
as Their love grew, time began to blur.
Strolls over the battlefields, under skies of red,
would be Her undoing, and Her heart would be led.

Not being One of Poetry and Prose,
in a garden in Ashtan, did He propose.
He did get down on bended knee,
"My Chaotic One, will you marry Me?",

A tumultuous pounding of war drums filled the land,
as the Chaotic One did take His hand.
Her wild eyes twinkled, Her heart for Him tamed,
"Aegis, I accept Your hand in Divine Union", she proclaimed.

He rose from His knee, his armour rattling,
He swallowed hard, His emotions battling.
He ran a loving gauntleted hand down the side of Her face,
T'was not a dry eye to be seen in the place.

And so it was, 24th of Glacian, 296 after the fall,
a divine wedding was held by Sarapis, Ruler of All.
By Eris and Aegis, a mutual pledge of loyalty was said,
with that, the Logos pronounced Them divinely wed.

It must be noted, a free-for-all was then made,
the divine themselves jumped in and played!
It must be said, it was a surprise to noone,
when The Gods Sarapis, Gaia, and Pentharian won.

A reception in the Garden did come after, merry was the festivities, with much alcohol and laughter.
Sharing chaotic tequila, mortals mingled with divine,
though some may have overdone it on the alcohol and wine!

Life went on as normal, for the mortals of the land.
But 13 years later, something happened! Something grand!
A deafening pounding of drums, shook the very ground,
a blinding show of chaotic energy accompanied the sound.

Out of the Erisian Pyramid, the Two arose,
Their forms filled the sky, as mortals trembled and huddled close.
A single sphere formed, as They fused Their energy,
a seed, as it were, that would grow into a Willow Tree.

From the Eileithyian Tree, formed of battles and horrors of War,
from the very matter of Chaos - flowers, mortar, and gore.
Two golden spheres erupted, dangling from the Tree,
The product of Their love within, twin children for all to see.

And thus a divine family was created, the Logos has answered their prayers,
and for a few moments, blessed peace would be Theirs.
But woe would soon follow, and this story will grow dim,
Many tears of War and Chaos would fall, the outlook would be grim.

But this is a tale of Love and Joy,
I will cease this tale, before the abduction of the Boy.
Mayhaps I shall tell that story, laced with rainclouds of grey,
But that is a tale, for another day.

For now, sit back, revel in this divine story of Love,
and sigh in contentment, for the Two of those above.
Eris of Chaos, and Aegis of War,
May they be together and blessed, forever, and forever more!
