A rough runestone is a runic artefact which increases the speed of sketching and smudging of most ground runes. Though it looks like nothing more than a rough, granite slab it is made unique by the runic markings covering the surface in red ink for easy legibility. Each of the known runes is represented somewhere on the rock, the inscriptions bright and gleaming, with an intricate interweaving connecting them all to the centre, where the algiz rune prominently stands. Its glyphic magic does not affect the speed of sketching of totem runes or sketching of the magmatic othala, the volcanic thurisaz, or the stormy hugalaz ground runes.
