- Ode to Lady Kastalia -

Oh Lady of the River, born of Moon and Sea,

Eternally veiled by the swirling mists!

I feel Thy touch, algid and yet refreshing,

As I walk, early morning, along the riverbank.

Knowing I will not catch a glimpse of Thee,

The brume settles with sadness in my heart.

Oh Lady of the River, born of Moon and Sea,

Eternally veiled by the swirling mists!

I hear Thy song, stirring and yet soothing,

The notes tumble along the flowing waters,

Slower at the bends, faster at the falls,

Nourishing my soul, attenuating my sorrow.

Oh Lady of the River, born of Moon and Sea,

Eternally veiled by the swirling mists!

We receive Thy gifts, the promise of Life,

the origin of renewal, strength and growth.

See, Your memory for ever flows through me,

And I continue to sing my prayers to Thee:

Oh Lady of the River, born of Moon and Sea,

Eternally veiled by the swirling mists!
