A beautiful former blackjack dealer of Shallam, Laura was known for taking angry gamblers' insults personally. It was after on such insult that she departed the Jewel of the East, returning later to launch a campaign to restore niceness, gentility, and a happy frivolity of the so-called golden years. When her movement ultimately failed, Laura attempted to overthrow the government of Shallam with a small force of conscripts, which was quickly smashed before Laura herself was banished from the city, never to be seen again.
