Nestled between the acropoli of the Cyclade and the rest of Ashtan proper, the sheer cliffs fenced in the lake on the north, west, and southern boundaries with a sandy beach to east. Residents often came to the lake for recreation, dotting the surface of the water with their fishing boats.
The lake can now be viewed near the southeastern edge of the city, on the northern edge of Selenia Pond. Travel along the Accra River is possible north of Selenia Pond.
