Eros, the Desire was the original God of Love and Beauty. As one of the Elder Gods, Eros fought alongside the others during the Chaos Wars. Eventually He disappeared, having ventured beyond the known realms, beyond the perception of even His fellow divine. His lack of presence within the Garden eventually cost Him His realm and possibly His godhood, as it was transferred to Selene by Sarapis upon Her birth.

The wedding ceremony of Bruyan and Zuldra of Loramere in 792 AF at the defunct shrine of Eros on the penultimate circle of Nur saw a surprising appearance of the once-god. Officiant and attendees stood agape as Eros attempted to persuade the bride from engaging in her nuptials in lieu of freer forms of Love. Zuldra refused, marrying the town crier anyway, much to the amusement of the Desire. As the wedding party departed, Eros declared his intent to remain in his shrine, apparently happy to be free of the constraints of his divine realm. Despite his lack of godhood, he took the wedding officiant, Ocedda, as his priest.
