"Drugs" is a loose term describing any substance in Achaea that causes an altered state of mind. Their effects range from slightly beneficial, to painfully addictive, to deadly.
Drugs can be taken in a variety of different ways, including smoking, drinking, or snorting a substance. Currently, there are four known mind-altering substances in Achaea: alcohol (a common social drink), cactus weed (a mild hallucinogen), snow blossoms (an ingestible flower), and gleam (a highly addictive drug). Some creatures and animate objects may provide the same effects as drugs.
Most drugs are taken for recreational purposes, and many of the city-states of Achaea have laws governing the usage of drugs by their citizens, particularly within city walls.
