Amphites, the Polemarch, an officer in the Ninth Legion of the Royal Ashtani Army during the reign of King Martin the Wise, once governed the island outpost of Shala-Khulia. After the deaths of his wife Carina and many of his soldiers, Amphites and his men were recalled to Ashtan. He never returned as his trireme was wrecked upon the shore of the northern forest Rheodad.

Serving directly under the Polemarch are the hoplites Daeon, Eurynestes, Martorius, Pascas, Phidaeon, and Shastaos. They are interred within a tomb in Rheodad.
