DIVINE TERZANELLE 19-31

Summer's End - inspired by Lady Melantha

----------------------------------------

The leaves begin to paint trees brown and red
To leave them bare and lonely once again.
Thus wonder joins regret at summer's end.

So fragile is the beauty now attained.
The petals fall from flowers out of bloom
And leave them bare and lonely once again,

While all along still spreading their perfume.
Melantha's touch will grace the world around.
The petals fall from flowers out of bloom:

A myriad of colours on the ground.
Such beauty only seen at summer's end.
Melantha's touch will grace the world around,

Turns season after season. Now She blends
A beauteous portrait fleeting as the wind.
Such beauty only seen at summer's end.

Here now but gone in just a wisp of time.
The leaves begin to paint trees brown and red:
A beauteous portrait fleeting as the wind.
Now wonder joins regret at summer's end.

Rite of Prayer - inspired by Lady Mithraea

------------------------------------------

I stand prepared to speak the words of prayer
As the horizon heralds light of dawn.
The sun will soon bring life for us to share.

Words passed along from generations gone,
Within them true enlightenment is found.
As the horizon shines with light of dawn,

I'll speak them to those knelt upon the ground.
Those ancient words will touch their hearts and souls.
Within them true enlightenment is found.

The dawn will bring us warmth and makes us whole.
So I will say this prayer and make sure that
Those ancient words will touch their hearts and souls,

While daybreak's sweet caress will make them glad.
A distant shimmer shows aurora's near.
So I will say this prayer and make sure that

The Light is spread to those that wish to hear.
I stand prepared to speak the words of prayer.
A distant shimmer shows aurora's near.
The sun will soon bring Light for us to share.

Open Mind - inspired by Lady Miramar

------------------------------------

Despite our tendency to place the blame
Our Justice's not reserved for just a few.
Each single person should be judged the same.

Allow the criminal to start anew
Once he has paid the price for what he did.
Our Justice's not reserved for just a few.

It is for everyone. Logos forbid,
A criminal should pay more than his due.
Once he has paid the price for what he did

The scales are balanced. Whatever you do,
Don't let emotions blind you to the truth.
A criminal would pay more than his due

If you would blindly act on biased ruth.
Since there is always more than meets the eye,
Don't let emotions blind you to the truth,

But always try to keep an open mind.
Despite our tendency to place the blame,
There always will be more than meets the eye.
Each single person should be judged the same.

Moonlit - inspired by Lady Ourania

----------------------------------

Her fingers pull the curtains to the side
Ever so quietly, lest mother hears.
Then with a dreamy smile she gapes outside

At where the crescent moon has yet appeared.
She climbs up on the spacious windowsill
Ever so quietly, lest mother hears.

Her nose against the glass, she sits so still,
But she seems deeply moved by moonlight's grace.
She sits upon the spacious windowsill,

Enchanted by the moonshine on her face.
A girl so young she seems an open book,
Yet she is deeply moved by moonlight's grace.

She's crawled up in her quiet little nook
To see her Lady's crown up in the sky.
This girl, though young, is not an open book.

Another dusk has darkened the night sky.
Her fingers pull the curtains to the side
To see her Lady's crown up in the sky.
Then with a dreamy smile she gapes outside.

---------

Beckoning Sea - inspired by Lord Neraeos

----------------------------------------

The soft and gentle waves across your feet
Assure you of the ocean's tender care.
You're breathless for a moment when you meet

The breakers of the ocean, strong and fair.
The rhythmic rolling of the foaming waves
Assures you of the ocean's tender care.

With all its faces, under sun or haze,
The sea is calling, beckoning you near.
The rhythmic rolling of the foaming waves

Embraces both the ocean's rage and fear.
But even when its fury strikes you down,
The sea is calling, beckoning you near.

A leaping dolphin turns itself around
Out in the briny sea, the ocean calm.
And even when its fury strikes you down

There's rhythmic harmony in every pass.
The curious waves flow across your feet
Out of the briny sea. The ocean's calm.
You're breathless for a moment, when you meet.

Moment in Time - inspired by Lord Aeon

--------------------------------------

A quiet moment of repose, I stay
And watch the world as it continues on.
A single moment; time will never wait.

It waits for no one as it speeds along.
So tired of running I stand by the side
And watch the world as it continues on.

I normally move with the world in strides,
Without the chance to rest or to unwind.
So tired of running, I stand by the side

And quickly fall so very far behind.
But when I move that fast I fall apart,
Without the chance to rest or to unwind.

So from this hectic life I now depart
And take a breath before I move along.
Since when I move that fast I fall apart,

I know this pause will surely make me strong.
A quiet moment of repose, I stay
And take a breath before I move along.
A single moment; time will never wait.

---------

Dance of Combat - inspired by Lord Matsuhama

--------------------------------------------

The Bard can dance his fight like no one else.
His battle seems less battle than a show,
But, don't be fooled, his skill is deeply felt.

You have no clue which way he next will go
While singing out elaborate or stern.
His battle seems less battle than a show

As music follows everywhere he turns.
His rapier flashes this way then the next,
While singing out elaborate or stern.

With you and his opponent left perplexed,
He's moving faster than your eyes can see.
His rapier flashes this way then the next.

It seems to float in air, alive and free.
It leaves you gaping, breathless, as you watch.
He's moving faster than your eyes can see.

You watch the show with your attention caught:
The Bard can dance his fight like no one else.
It leaves you gaping, breathless, as you watch.
But don't be fooled, his skill is deeply felt.

In Service - inspired by Lord Pentharian

----------------------------------------

A life of honour is a life of wealth.
I'll have the chance to help the weak and poor
While nourishing my spiritual health.

While others spent their lives in want of more,
Are never satisfied with what they have,
I'll have the chance to help the weak and poor.

Though gold and fame are things I'll never have,
Still my compassion goes to those that need,
Are never satisfied with what they have.

Today I speak my oath as was agreed.
"From this day forth I swear my life to Thee.
Now my compassion goes to those in need,

And in Your service I'll help them be free.
My life I'll spend in service of what's right.
From this day forth I swear my life to Thee,

And I'll uphold the values of a Knight."
A life of honour is a life of wealth.
My life is spent in service of what's right,
And nourished is my spiritual health.

---------

Envy in Duet - inspired by Lady Indrani

---------------------------------------

A wealthy man of commerce passes by.
He's frowning at the children on the lane.
The beggar children watch with greedy eyes.

Their freedom is well worth a bit of pain
As they will never know the stress he feels.
He's frowning at the children on the lane,

And he decides they've got the better deal.
They have a freedom he will never know,
And they will never know the stress he feels.

Yet still their hungry eyes beg him for more.
They may be poor but they are free as birds.
They have a freedom he will never know.

The wealthy man then tosses them some bills.
Incomprehension on his face because
They may be poor, but they are free as birds,

And he is shackled, which is clearly worse.
A wealthy man of commerce passes by.
Incomprehension on his face because
The beggar children watch with greedy eyes.

---------

Soldiers of War - inspired by Lord Aegis

----------------------------------------

Soldiers of war, the battlefield we brave.
Triumphantly our army will emerge,
And those that fall will have a heroes' grave.

So soon we will be in the fight submerged,
Where battlecries and trumpets lead our way.
Triumphantly our army will emerge;

Our leaders are strategists every day.
True champions, they are born on fields of war
Where battlecries and trumpets lead the way.

I feel such pride to be part of our corps,
And we'll be honoured when we make it through.
True champions, they are born on fields of war

Where bravery receives the credit due.
Their courage will receive a rich reward,
And they'll be honoured when they make it through,

Or be remembered if they die by sword.
Soldiers of war, the battlefield we brave.
Our courage will receive a rich reward,
And those that fall will have a heroes' grave.

The Child Pandora - inspired by Lady Pandora

--------------------------------------------

The mortal races seemed so frail and fun.
Pandora started out wild as the wind.
She turned out milder than She had begun.

With mischief in Her eyes and a big grin,
She played with all those little things below.
Pandora started out wild as the wind,

Was unaware of the pain She bestowed.
She used one of the Logos' artefacts
To play with all those little things below.

She turned them into cripples, laughing hard,
Until the artefact fused in Her grip.
She used one of the Logos' artefacts:

Changed men to maggots. She had quite the trip.
And when Lord Sarapis removed Her hand
To take the artefact back from Her grip,

She was forever labeled firebrand.
The mortal races seemed so frail and fun,
But, when Lord Sarapis removed Her hand,
She turned out milder than She had begun.

---------

The Experiment - inspired by Lady Eris

--------------------------------------

Some say that it is far too dangerous,
And I should go for theory over fact,
But I would rather know than have to guess.

This list of acts may seem a bit abstract,
But I have done my research thoroughly.
Some say I should pick theory over fact,

That I have no idea what I will see,
And I won't be the only one to die.
But I have done my research thoroughly.

I will soon call him forth through time and space:
The Horror Lady Maya saw up close.
And if it does turn out that I will die,

I will at least have had the death I chose,
And it will lead to more than just my doom,
Since I'll have seen the Horror from up close.

He'll soon stand here beside me in this room.
Some say that it is far too dangerous,
And this will only lead me to my doom,
But I would rather know than have to guess.

---------

Eruption - inspired by Lady Artemis

-----------------------------------

The tension in the air is dense as clay,
And angry rumblings echo from the earth.
It is too late to run, but not to pray,

Pray for your soul at this volcano's birth.
Hot ashes start to snow down from the sky,
And angry rumblings echo from the earth.

The lava raises temperatures so high
That only in the rivers you can walk.
Hot ashes start to snow down from the sky,

And trees are set on fire by molten rock.
The lava flows glow brighter than the sun,
And only in the rivers you can walk.

Now all around you earth and nature burn,
And one can feel the heat from miles away.
The lava flows glow brighter than the sun.

The earth spits out its fury all today.
The tension in the air is dense as clay,
And one can feel the heat from miles away.
It is too late to run, but not to pray.

DIVINE TERZANELLE PENTAD 1-5

Prayer for Salvation - inspired by Maya, the Great Mother

---------------------------------------------------------

I sought a victory but I found defeat.
I died when I attacked a mighty foe.
My body lies here broken at my feet,

And there is no place for my soul to go.
Please, Mother Maya, listen to my prayer.
I died when I attacked a mighty foe,

And now my soul is filled with great despair.
There is so much that I still haven't seen.
Please, Mother Maya, listen to my prayer,

And please give me another chance to be,
To give the love I still have left to give.
There is so much that I still haven't seen,

And there is so much life for me to live.
So I implore Thee, save my soul, because
Of all the love I still have left to give.

Great Mother, please restore the man I was.
I sought a victory but I found defeat.
So I implore Thee, save my soul, because
My body lies here broken at my feet.

---------

Lord Daedalus - inspired by Daedalus, Guardian of Balance

---------------------------------------------------------

Lord Daedalus: not many know His face
Because He always works behind the scenes
To make the world around a better place.

And from the Logos He received the means.
He works with Ayar towards common goals.
Because He always works behind the scenes,

He won't have to avoid those fragile toes.
He was the first to be an Elder God
And works with Ayar towards common goals

While calmly watching as Their work unfolds.
Our reverence runs deeper than we show.
He was the first to be an Elder God.

We can not see the many seeds He sows,
But we still know His work is everywhere.
Our reverence runs deeper than we show,

But we expect of that He's well aware.
Lord Daedalus: not many know His face,
But we still know His work is everywhere.
He makes the world around a better place.

Magic - inspired by Aeyr, God of Magic

--------------------------------------

With magic all around us, everywhere,
Our lives are blessed with beauty and rewards.
From elemental storms to humble prayer,

All magical things draw upon one source.
From songbirds to illusion, they're all jewels,
Our lives are blessed with beauty and rewards

As we draw them from magic's endless pool.
We find delight in all the little things,
From songbirds to illusion: they're all jewels.

A Bard feels magic every time he sings.
But we don't take for granted all these boons.
We find delight in all the little things,

And say our thanks when we unwind at noon.
We say our thanks to the Divine Lord Aeyr,
And we don't take for granted all these boons

That give us power over earth and air.
With magic all around us, everywhere,
We say our thanks to the Divine Lord Aeyr
For elemental storms and humble prayer.

Weaving the World - inspired by Clementius, the Weaver

------------------------------------------------------

The Weaver gently weaves thread after thread
And so creates the fabric of our world.
Across His loom we find the weaving, spread,

With each thread straight; not ever is one furled.
He sits behind His loom when He has time,
And so creates the fabric of our world.

His weaving skill is often called sublime
Because it's obvious that He's the best.
He sits behind his loom when He has time

And isn't bothered by one of those pests.
The Logos found the best God for the job;
It is so obvious that He's the best.

His work is loved by all across the globe.
His gentle hands make barely a mistake;
The Logos found the best God for the job.

He weaves the world but His hands never shake.
The Weaver gently weaves thread after thread.
His gentle hands make barely a mistake.
Across His loom we find the weaving, spread.

Valley of Saoghal - inspired by Sarapis, the Logos

--------------------------------------------------

Far north, beyond the peaks of Inbhir Ness,
we find a valley, lush and full of life.
The perfect spot for someone to de-stress,

to hide from all the hectic storm and strife.
There where the white boar forages for food,
we find a valley, lush and full of life.

The valley breathes a mystic, dreamy mood,
with in its center the Lake Saoghal.
There where the white boar forages for food,

and every voice is heard through the membrane,
there is the place where every heart will soar,
with in its center the Lake Saoghal,

the Logos' temple resting at its shores.
There where no sentient being makes his home,
there is the place where every heart will soar.

The temple of our Logos is at home
far north, beyond the peaks of Inbhir Ness,
there where no sentient being makes his home.
The perfect spot for someone to de-stress.
