My child came to me one night with worry in his eyes;

He rubbed them as he timidly approached.

Father, I'm afraid to sleep, my dreams so dire have been,

On my mind nightmares ghastly encroach.

Relax dear boy, remember well: your dreams come from within,

And as with every thing in earth and sky

There's Beauty there, if you will look, though fearful it may seem.

Son, sit with me and I will tell you why.

Long ago, Lord Sarapis decided on a nap

In hopes that He could mend His weary mind.

It was three-hundred fifty years since Seleucar's Fall,

And to His care were all Events consigned.

The omniscient Creator is He, of unfathomable power!

Nonetheless, to rest gave Him such joy.

He wandered in the Dreamworld through the landscape of His mind,

And do you know just what He found, my boy?

Cloaked and cowled, the Logos slept as He'd not done in years,

And dreamed of Beauty made in female form.

I see that blush upon your cheek, but make no brash presumption,

This dream of His transcended every norm

Of winsome grace as perfect as has ever been invoked

In the mind of God or mortal ever made.

His vision was the Lady Love, Selene, the Goddess fair!

And not some tawdry Mysian tavern maid.

That little bit of Sarapis that once was Proteus

Was stirred to recollect His former flame,

The Elder Goddess Lorielan, who would betray His trust;

His Garden throne to overthrow and claim.

But so, with Valnurana's help and mortals bent to task,

The Logos' dream drew in Her breath enchanted,

Smiled on the waking world and blew a vestal kiss

To the realm of Love, from Eros now supplanted.

So you see, my boy, that dreams aren't always to be feared.

Great Beauty springs from the hearts of those

Who know themselves and wander through the Dreamworld blissfully

Chasing whimsy currents as they flow.
