Tall and darkly handsome, the harbourmaster has an authoritative bearing despite his humble surroundings. He is attired like the other dockhands in loose trousers and a tunic, but he wears his curly hair cut short, rather than shaven, and a neatly trimmed beard. With alert eyes he scans the harbour and open sea beyond, continually on the lookout for approaching ships.
