'''Mortal''' is a catch-all term for non-[[:category:immortals|immortal]] populations comprising the many [[sentient]] races of [[Achaea]] and the worlds and [[planes]] beyond, as opposed to the [[Gods]] and their aspects, those beings which are invested with the [[divine essence|essence]] of their respective divine realms. When mortals die their souls pass through the [[Cave of Maya|Cave]]. When immortals die, no one knows where they go. The term includes ordinary [[denizens]] and even [[Aldar]], but usually refers to [[adventurers]] in common parlance.
