In the past, adventurers could choose to take a tour offered by [[Lothariel]] and [[Demetrius]] here, during which they completed three [[quests]] and learned much about the realms. The tour was briefly superseded by the [[Trial of Rebirth]] in the reimagined realm of [[Ceylon]], but in modern times Achaean teens only enter the world of adventuring by escaping murder by [[pygmies]], now firmly a rite of passage tacitly accepted by every city-state from [[Ashtan]] to [[Targossas]].

Loom remains relevant solely in its capacity as a sometime [[:Category:Travel|travel]] hub consisting of a [[Ring of Portals]] from which [[newbies]] can reach many landmarks. After leaving newbiehood, this island becomes inaccessible to them.
