The '''Daoric Plains''' is a vast area of ancient grassland situated on the continent of [[Meropis]]. The [[Gulf of Nilakantha]] lies to its north and the [[Notic Ocean]] to its east, while the [[Sarave Foothills]] and a bottomless gorge determine its west and southern borders. A fertile area, it is home to golden hares, brown and white llama, silver foxes and greater anteaters, as well as innumerable species of insects. Small, dappled plains hawks and spotted kestrels can be found soaring on the wind, scanning the ground below for prey. It is said that thieves live upon the plains also.

It is on the northern edge of the plain, between the ocean shore and [[Orilla]], that the exit from the [[Grotto of Maya]] is hidden.
