Robed in boughs of evergreen, '''Melpomene, Spirit of the [[Black Forest]]''', is as unique as the creatures who make their homes there. Over the years she has suffered many attacks of [[holocaust]] and [[extermination]] along with the the trees she protects, yet this [[forest spirit]] endures with strength and grace.

She is also known in the Arts as Melpomene, the [[Muse]] of Tragedy.
