Loosely speaking, [[drugs]] are considered to be any substance in [[Achaea]] that cause an altered state of mind.  They can be taken in a variety of different ways, typically by smoking, drinking, or snorting the substance.  Currently, there are three known mind-altering substances in [[Achaea]].  [[Alcohol]] (a common social drink), [[cactus weed]] (a mild hallucinogen) and [[gleam]] (a highly addictive drug).  Many of the [[city|city-states]] of [[Achaea]] have laws governing the usage of drugs by their citizens, particularly within the walls of the city.
