Named after  [[Callisto[[, the son of [[Maya]] and husband of [[Sinope]], Mount Callisto is less fertile than [[Mount Sinope]], its western counterpart. Its slopes are covered in pine. The mountain is watched over by the [[Shrine of Ascension]] to the northeast.
