Coloured an ugly brownish-green and composed of countless blades of algae, the Sargassum is in truth a mass of sea grass moving about at the whim of the ocean's current, carrying broken wood and debris along with it. But the more distinctive element of this roving mass are the numerous bloated bodies that can be found entrapped in it, bodies well rotted and devoid of eyes but not always still. It is not strange for fish to circle about and feed on such rotting remains.
Recently, there have been a number of sightings near the waters off the southern coast of the island of Tapoa.
