Located on the western edge of Ashtan, Lake Balaton was the termination of the Accra River as it flowed from the north. Nestled between the acropoli of the Cyclade and the rest of Ashtan proper, the sheer cliffs fenced in the lake on the north, west, and southern boundaries with a sandy beach to east. Residents often came to the lake for recreation, dotting the surface of the water with their fishing boats.
