"Amae is the antithesis of the free-spirited beliefs her people embody." Antithesis? I don't understand this line, or is this an IC-related thing? Asara 18:41, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
- Googled for "define:antithesis":
- the juxtaposition of contrasting words or ideas to give a feeling of balance
- antithetical - antithetic: sharply contrasted in character or purpose; "practices entirely antithetical to her professed beliefs"; "hope is antithetic to despair"
- is derived from the Greek words (anti) meaning “over against” and (tithenai) meaning “to set.”
- It sounds more like a literary term, but it does fit in a way. Perhaps "antipode" might be better? (Something directly opposite or diametrically opposed) ~Soludra 19:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
