Hovering effortlessly in the air on four sets of thin, thrumming wings, this giant aspis regards its surroundings warily with two of its compound eyes, glittering a bright ruby-red and protruding from the sides of its triangular head. Razor-edged mandibles click and snap together horizontally, perfectly in time with the beating of its wings. Bristling with sharp, forked claws, six of its eight long, segmented legs dangle beneath its suspended body. The other pair is raised up towards the sides of its head. Wickedly arcing hooks grow from the ends of each of its forelegs, their blood red colour fading into black at the tips.
