Ettin

The ettin are an interplanar race of two-headed giants. Each of their heads appears to have a mind of its own, indeed even a name of its own, sharing a humanoid body. The name of each ettin is simply a conjunction of the names of their heads. The ettin people make their home in the lower section of Yggdrasil in an unnamed city arranged about one of the World Tree's roots. The tree provides nourishment to the mighty creatures, who worship the goddess Gaia as an extension of their gratitude to Yggdrasil's bounty. Exhibiting remarkable woodworking skill, on occasion the inhabitants of the subterranean city are known to sell their wares to outsiders, provided intrepid adventurers can navigate the tunnels and the loamy soil trails.
